Forgetting How To Poem…?

writer__s_block__by_patronus4000

It seems I’ve forgotten how to write poems,

I can’t remember the order of things,

The flow just never seems to get going,

Miss Muse? I need thoughts injecting.

I know I’ve taken a few months off,

I can’t say I’ve nothing to write about,

The Hell of my love life, my issues, my job.

I’m floundering here, like a landed trout!

This post reads like an obituary,

can’t imagine rhyming to that!

pulls up rhyming dictionary,

that’s how much I’m falling flat.

Now, the urge I have is to keep this thing going,

in the hope that some more ideas will come,

but I’m lost, can’t see the lighthouse glowing.

This poem slowly fades, like the taste of chewing gum.

End.

  1. I just start with a first line and off I go:

The saucer I saw in the skies
    Was certainly quite a surprise
    But my nightmare began
    When a little green man
Said: “Greetings!” and opened his flies.
