Men vs Women!

We’re different, okay? I’m tired of the people who say that gender is entirely a learned thing, something that people are somehow ‘taught’ or ‘molded’ into. One more thing, if people are going to say that some men can be born with female brains and vice versa, and take steps to change their gender, then you must admit that gender isn’t learned, because trans-people are born with the opposite gender’s brain!

An experiment which is interesting;

lay out a wide variety of toys, every single type of toy that you can get your hands on. Then, get a group of young boys to come into the room and let them choose whichever toy they want to play with, then do the same thing with a group of young girls. What happens is exactly what you’d expect; the boys play with the toy fire-trucks, the soldiers and the guns, and the girls play with the Barbies and the dollhouses. Not impressed? Well, amazingly, if you do the same experiment with boy chimpanzees and girl chimpanzees, the same thing happens! The boy chimps go for the cars and soldiers and the girl chimps go for the typically girly toys! Pretty strange huh?

Also our IQs are different. Not in a bad way though. You see, in regards to IQ scores, women tend to cluster around the mean, there isn’t much deviation in women’s IQs, the vast majority of women have a score of 100 or very close to it. But men are way more varied in IQ scores, there are more genius level men and more really dumb men.

So, men aren’t superior, women aren’t inferior. We’re just different.

    • I DID! I played with everything – (boy stuff and girl stuff) Barbie dolls and such, but it was more of a lesson in anatomy that anything else, lol

      • I was know to take off with my male cousins toys. The whole concept of gender neutral toys is to let children choose their own toys instead of being forced to play with a ton of pink or blue because “your parents said so”. Not because we’re different. 😛

      • But aren’t gender neutral toys another form of ‘forcing’ something upon them? Why deny nature?

      • It’s not about nature.. I would rather have picked my own toys, no matter the colour than being forced to pick princess stuff all in pink. My favourite colour is red. Why can’t it all be red?

        Did you know that pink used to be a male colour? And blue was female? I don’t think a colour tag decided by a corporation is “nature”. It would be more natural to let kids choose their own toys instead of labelling this or that as “boys” or “girls” only. Gender neutral isn’t forcing kids.. If a boy wants to have a cooking set.. It will be all pink or girly. Why aren’t there any cooking sets for boys? Why are all the trainsets boyish? What if a girl wants a trainset?

        The “gender neutral” part means there is NO dominant colour or a label on it saying “this gender only”. It’s not about “nature”. :/

      • I know that pink was a boys colour and blue was a girls colour up until the 20s or something.
        The colours aren’t what I mean when I say ‘nature’, I’m talking about the kinds of toys that the different genders not only of humans but higher primates choose to play with by and large. (there are exceptions, sure)
        I think it’s obvious why there aren’t trainsets for girls or cooking sets for boys; it’s because the overwhelming majority of boys and girls don’t go towards those things.

      • I don’t think that’s the point of gender neutral toys.. The point of gender neutral toys is to stop making them for a specific gender and just mix it up. I’m very sure there are girls who prefer a cooking set in every colour of the rainbow BUT pink. It’s the label and the colour codes that needs to stop. Sure girls are more inclined to pick dolls over trucks and the other way around but does it HAVE to be all princess-y? Does it HAVE to be bring puking pink? That’s the problem. It’s not the “this is for boys” or “this is for girls”.. It’s fine if it’s pink but.. Have you ever walked into a toy story? The girl section is a WALL OF PINK. I find toys “for boys” to be a lot more diverse but there’s still a “boys must be though!” vibe going but girls seem to be forced into a pink and frilly “girls must be ladies” type of world. :/

        This can keep on going. No joke.

      • Why don’t toy makers actually ask the children what they want and like? That could be a fruitful idea! lol 😀
