Why haven’t these things been invented yet? An aircraft carrier not on the water, but in the air! Self contained flying cities, with hundreds if not thousands of people going about their business. Military in nature they’ll all be in the beginning, but if we can get these things up in the air so to speak, we’ll eventually build civilian flying cities – the perfect antidote to the climate change epidemic we’re all going to endure over the next hundred years!
The engines powering these massive things would probably have to be nuclear. They can’t be petrol or diesel powered for obvious reasons. And the Admirals piloting the things will have to have balls bigger than watermelons!
Quite a risky thing though, a flying aircraft carrier. Imagine if one failed and plummeted to the ground and killed several thousand people, killing more with its nuclear fallout.
Happily, DARPA (the top American technology research department) is actually working on a flying aircraft carrier. I hope they make one, I’d be more than happy to live and work on it!
