British comedian and actor, Russell Brand, in recent times, has been espousing revolution on the airwaves and the televisual versions of those waves.
I like Brand, he’s very funny and clever, but come on, Russell!? Capitalism cannot be taken down, taken apart, or changed in any way. Your ideas of a socialist paradise are mere dreams. Capitalism ‘for the win’!
^ I was joking, I agree with everything he says about the need for a LOT of change. Sadly though, he’s from a poor family from the East End of London, with a Cockney accent. Methinks if he had the same upbringing and perfect eloquent voice of say, Bertrand Russell, then he’d have throngs more followers and lovers, too.
Loads of people, including sometimes myself sadly, judge people negatively on the sound of their voice, specifically their accents. This is a bad character trait that people, and sometimes I, have. I don’t know what to do about this, I suppose people are just snobby in general. It makes absolutely NO sense at all, though – because I’d say, most of the funniest, warmest people I’ve ever met spoke with a VERY strong Aussie accent – think of a ‘Crocodile Dundee’ type of Aussie accent, then multiply it by ten thousand, that’s the sort of accent that the best people I’ve ever met have had. This snobbery is either learned….or learned……because humans are not born with snobbery, that’s for sure.
Also, he puts out daily videos on YouTube, under the name, ‘The Trews’. Check them out, they lack specific sources and documentation, but they really are quite funny and entertaining.
Have you read Russell’s book? What did you think of it? What do you think of him in general?
