Liverpool, The Title, Take It, It’s Yours……

Just now, Liverpool Football Club have beaten one of the strongest teams in the world, by the name of Manchester City. With only four games left in the season, Liverpool have the Premier League trophy well and truly within their grasp! If they win it, they will have ended a 24 year Premier League trophy-less drought!

It was a sensational first half for Liverpool. They began the game in their now characteristic pedal-to-the-metal style – attacking and attacking with speed and style. This worked, as Liverpool managed to score 2 goals in the first half.

However, the second half was a different story. Manchester City came out of the blocks in much better form, and Liverpool seemed to drop off quite a lot. Manchester City scored 2 goals of their own in half an hour. The game was now all level at 2-2. Liverpool seemed to resign themselves to a draw. But, but, but! Vincent Kompany, the Manchester City captain, and one of the finest defenders in the world, botched a simple defensive kick, and Liverpool’s Phillipe Coutinho, sprang on to the loose ball and curled it into the goal, past England’s number-one goalkeeper, Joe Hart.

The score, now, was 3-2 Liverpool’s way. All they had to do was defend solidly and the game would be theirs!

They did! And they won. In one of the most tense, nerve-wracking games of football I’ve ever watched, Liverpool had won it! And their Premier League dreams are well and truly coming true!

But, being Liverpool, they’ll probably fuck it up at the last moment, just like the always do! Let’s hope not.
